Dua Lipa was born on 22 August, 1995 London. Her parents are Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa has Bosnian roots through her grandmother. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja which is a city located in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers were both historians. Gjin and Rina are her siblings. Lipa was musically influenced by her father the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. While at home, her dad would play original compositions, along with songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing when she was only six years old. When she was nine, she learned how to sing. Lipa has performed her cover of If I Ain't Got You and Beautiful from Christina Aguilera and posted it on YouTube. Lipa made her debut record contract in 2014 through Warner Bros. Records. In August of 2015 her first single New Love came out.
